About Consilient Energy
Built around a way of thinking.
Consilient Energy was founded on the belief that complex energy needs are best addressed by understanding them broadly, structuring them rigorously, applying judgment formed through consequential experience, and executing with discipline.
That belief emerged from three decades spent working across the energy system: engineering and infrastructure, power and natural gas markets, pricing and risk, business formation, operations, commercial leadership, enterprise energy services, data and technology, sustainability, and distributed energy.
Across those different settings, the same lesson recurred: consequential energy matters rarely remain confined to the boundaries of a single specialty.
Consilient Energy was created to work accordingly.
Why Consilient
The name expresses the idea behind the firm.
Consilience is the unification of knowledge.
The concept describes something more ambitious than assembling different specialties. It is the search for a coherent understanding that emerges when knowledge from different domains is examined together and the relationships among them are understood.
That idea has particular force in energy.
Facilities, technologies, markets, tariffs, contracts, operations, regulation, economics, organizational priorities, and business objectives interact. Understanding each independently is useful. Understanding how they operate together can reveal something more.
The name Consilient Energy reflects the kind of firm we intend to build: expansive in perspective, rigorous in method, and capable of bringing different forms of knowledge together in service of consequential decisions and results.

Founder
George Deljevic
Founder & Managing Principal
George Deljevic has spent three decades working across a wide range of roles and disciplines within the energy industry.
He began his career in engineering and project development, performing engineering, financial analysis, rate design, and development work for major natural gas pipeline projects. From there, his career moved into competitive power and natural gas markets, where he built pricing and portfolio-management systems, structured supply and risk, developed products, entered new markets, and repeatedly helped build and operate energy businesses.
He has held general management and P&L responsibility for energy businesses; built and led start-ups; overseen portfolio management, structuring, valuation, and risk for an $800 million retail energy business; led a 40-person commercial organization generating approximately $120 million in term gross margin; and formed an enterprise energy-services business that reached profitability in its second year.
His work later expanded across enterprise energy services, utility service and rates, energy data and information, sustainability and decarbonization, distributed energy resources, commercial operations, and the development of operating and decision frameworks.
The breadth matters because it has been participatory rather than observational.
It has involved making decisions, building systems, creating businesses, leading people, assuming responsibility for financial and operating outcomes, responding when things did not work as intended, and seeing what happens when consequential choices meet operating reality.
Consilient Energy is built from that experience.
Consequential Experience
Experience earns its value through consequence.
Across his career, George Deljevic has repeatedly worked in circumstances where decisions had direct financial, operating, and organizational consequences.
He has built businesses from the ground up: developing market-entry strategies, pricing and portfolio systems, operating processes, organizational structures, products, and commercial capabilities. Several reached profitability within their first two years, including one retail energy start-up that grew to more than $20 million in annual revenue and another that reached profitability within six months and was subsequently sold.
He has also worked at scale. At AEP Energy, he led the organization responsible for portfolio management, valuation, structuring, and risk for an approximately $800 million retail energy business; later led a 40-person commercial organization generating approximately $120 million in term gross margin; and subsequently formed and operated a new enterprise energy-services business that achieved break-even operations in its first full year and profitability in its second.
Other circumstances required intervention rather than creation. Earlier in his career, he designed and implemented a turnaround plan for an energy business facing significant losses, restoring it to profitability within two years. In other roles, he led market entry, contract restructuring, process reform, product development, new technology evaluation, and the creation of operating and decision frameworks across both energy supply and energy services.
The work has crossed engineering, economics, markets, operations, risk, technology, commercial strategy, data, and organizational leadership.
The common thread has been responsibility for turning incomplete information, changing conditions, and complex constraints into decisions and results.
That experience informs how Consilient works today.
The Founding Perspective
Consilient Energy was built to bring the whole experience together.
After three decades in the energy industry, the case for Consilient Energy became increasingly clear.
The most consequential client needs rarely fit cleanly within conventional service boundaries. They cross markets, operations, facilities, data, technology, finance, regulation, organizational priorities, and execution.
At the same time, the strongest results often come from bringing together forms of knowledge and experience that are usually separated.
Consilient Energy was founded to operate from that premise.
The firm is intentionally broad in perspective, rigorous in method, and selective about the problems it takes on. We seek to understand deeply, impose effective structure, apply experienced judgment, and execute with discipline.
We believe difficult energy problems deserve that level of attention.
And we believe the greatest opportunities often emerge when the whole is understood more clearly than the parts alone would allow.
That is why the firm is called Consilient Energy.
